News: Four Hands presents five collections by d-Bodhi at the Las Vegas Market

Austin, TX (July 19, 2011) --Four Hands will debut renowned eco-friendly European design house, d-Bodhi, during the Las Vegas Summer Market, continuing to expand its eco-friendly collections and brands.   Five new d-Bodhi collections from Four Hands will feature a variety of reclaimed materials and boat wood fused with scrap iron and recycled denim.

d-Bodhi offers unique and fashion-inspired furniture.  Artisans transform rough nail-filled wood from old houses and boats, scrap iron from ships and even recycled denim into furnishings for homes, offices, retail shops and restaurants around the world.  Each d-Bodhi design captures a piece of fascinating history and spirit.

The five d-Bodhi collections marry the edgy, urban look of galvanized steel with the warmth of reclaimed teak and recycled boat wood.  The beautifully seasoned wood adds another element of mixing wood and metal.  The collections are European inspired but a refreshing departure from the stark modern look that consumers associate with European design.

“d-Bodhi has always grabbed our attention with cutting edge design combined with some of the most impressive visual merchandising in the industry. They have a very dynamic design team and emphasize minimizing their eco-foot print.  That philosophy marries well with our existing eco-friendly product lines, and we are thrilled to bring the d-Bodhi collections to America,” stated Matthew Briggs, CEO and president of Four Hands.

d-Bodhi presented by Four Hands, collections include:

Elegant with a vintage flair. Gently rounded fronts and legs on the Bow Front Collection add elegance to any room, while metal nail studs give a vintage appeal to the burnished-iron drawers and doors. Softly colored pieces of reclaimed teak wood form the sides and shelves. Brushed-iron bars provide the structure.

Bold. Artistic. Light up a room in a bold, artistic style with the d-Bright collection of floor, table and wall lamps.  Using d-Bodhi's signature small scraps of recycled teak wood to form the base of several models, the lampshades have a subtle industrial design.

Dramatic. Exciting. Vibrant. The Spike collection's smooth rounded corners of brushed-iron bands combine with solid reclaimed teak wood and floating tops for dynamic furniture statement. The rich deep grey or white on burnished metal drawers and doors dramatically sets off the warm honey colored wood.

Raw. Inventive. Unconventional. Designed from weathered pieces of recycled teak wood, the faded paint and twisted iron legs bring a raw urban energy to the Street Art Collection.  A portion of the proceeds goes to benefit local children’s charities.

Dynamic. Commanding. Solid. Inspired by trestle tables from medieval times, solid teak wood is laminated to an MDF inner core and supported by massive iron keyhole-shaped trestles. This bold piece of furniture adds a commanding presence to any décor.
