Downtown’s massive World Market Center Las Vegas complex is best known as the venue of two major home furnishings markets attended by tens of thousands of retailers, designers and industry professionals twice yearly.  Slightly lesser-known is that tucked inside World Market Center Las Vegas is also one of the city’s most unique design and home fashion treasures - Las Vegas Design Center. Comprised of more than 30 showrooms and hundreds of designer brands featuring home furnishings, décor, lighting, floor coverings, fabric, trim, and accessories, LVDC is open and accessible to the public 50 weeks of the year.

To give Las Vegas residents an insider’s fast track to all the things they need to know about shopping and buying at LVDC, the center is hosting one-hour guided tours complete with coffee, bagels and advice by design gurus. “Design Center 101” dates are May 14, May 21, June 4 and June 25 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Las Vegas Design Center is located on the first two floors of Buildings A and C of World Market Center Las Vegas and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  It is the single largest offering of home furnishings in Las Vegas.  Encompassing close to 400,000 square feet, LVDC caters to just about every style and taste – from classical to contemporary and everything in between. Because of the depth and breadth of the product offerings found at LVDC, customers will enjoy an experience unlike any retail store in Las Vegas or elsewhere.

For the public, no appointment is necessary and consumers are free to browse at their leisure throughout the showrooms or go directly to the Design Salon for complimentary assistance from an accredited ASID design professional who can act as a concierge (or personal shopper) directing consumers to the showrooms that best suit their taste, style, needs and budget.  When ready to make a purchase, the Design Salon will pair consumers with a design professional who will assist in the purchasing process.

The advantages of shopping at LVDC are many:

• LVDC showrooms sell product that in many cases is exclusive, highly configurable and customizable. This is particularly true with upholstery items, bedding and window treatments where there are countless fabric and trim options and case pieces where there are a wide variety of finish and hardware options.

• LVDC showrooms often feature merchandise that is not yet or will never be available in retail stores.

• Consumers can expect to realize a savings of 20 to 50 percent off retail according to ASID.  Savings will vary from showroom to showroom.

• Consumers have the opportunity to work with accredited and qualified designers.

• In addition to helping consumers make purchases, ASID designers at LVDC offer a one-hour complimentary design consultation – regardless of whether or not the consumer ends up purchasing at LVDC or requiring interior design services.

Although LVDC’s Design Salon has several design professionals from ASID’s California Central/Nevada Chapter who have signed up to work there, all design professionals are welcome.  This allows consumers to bring their own interior designers into LVDC if they so choose.

There are no pre-set spending guidelines at LVDC.  The Design Salon concept works equally well for the individual looking for the right lamp as it does for someone looking to redecorate their entire home.  LVDC is also designed for the out-of-market visitor who travels to Las Vegas looking for the latest trends and styles.

LVDC is closed to the public during the bi-annual Las Vegas Market in January and August.  During those time periods, LVDC’s host facility – World Market Center Las Vegas – operates as a trade-only facility.
