News: New Hours at Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center Allow Greater Access to Design Professionals, Consumers
12.22.09
(LAS VEGAS)-Beginning January 2, Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center Las Vegas is shifting its hours of operation and opening its doors on Saturdays. In doing so, designers and consumers will have more convenient opportunities to take advantage of all that Las Vegas Design Center has to offer, from top-of-the-line furniture, fabrics, wall décor, lighting, floor coverings and accessories to complimentary consultations at the Design Salon.
Hours will now be Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
"These new business hours will increase design professional and consumer access to LVDC," says Randy Wells, vice president of Las Vegas Design Center. "We want to make sure those who are not available 9-5pm Monday through Friday have the opportunity to visit the Design Center and experience exceptional design."
The decision to change its hours came from listening to the needs of those who use the Las Vegas Design Center most. Now, consumers will have the opportunity to visit Las Vegas Design Center after work and on the weekend, and designers who want to shop with clients will have greater flexibility and benefit from the added convenience.
The Design Salon, located within Las Vegas Design Center, will also have new hours. This service gives the public unique access to design center showrooms, facilitating complimentary consultations for consumers with professional designers. It's the product of a partnership between Las Vegas Design Center and The American Society of Interior Designers' (ASID) California Central/Nevada chapter.
"We opened the Design Salon with the intention of connecting consumers to LVDC and helping them gain access to authentic, genuine designer home furnishings in a welcoming, world-class environment," says Wells. "Some people who could use an interior designer avoid doing so because they have a fear of being over-charged, when in fact working with a designer can be very cost effective and in some cases save money. In order for us to really create an opportunity for the design-seeking consumer to use the Design Salon, and for designers to access our showrooms when it is convenient to come with their clients, we had to change our hours to be more accommodating. The 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. will allow designers to meet clients at the end of the work day."
Showroom representatives are excited about the new hours and the added availability they can now share with clients.
Mark Phillips, President and CEO of Phillips Collection, says that this is a wise move on the part of Las Vegas Design Center, and it indicates that they're willing to re-evaluate their business model, go the distance and give clients what they want.
"Las Vegas Design Center made this change to mimic the shopping patterns of designers and consumers," said Phillips. "Our target customers realize they need the help of professionals in the design area for home furnishings. They know how to buy a car but don't know how to make a great living room. If we are targeting these individuals we need to be accessible to them, and altering our operating hours will help."
Phillips went on to say that he expects a positive outcome from the schedule change. "The payoff will be when we see increased sales," he said.
